Elisabetta Gualmini is an Italian politician who serves as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. She serves as a full Member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. She has an extensive background in political research, having earned her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Florence in 1996. She was a visiting scholar at various universities and research centers, such as the London School of Economics and the Humboldt-Universität and Political Science Research Center in Berlin. In 2011 Elisabetta Gualmini became President of the "Carlo Cattaneo" Research Institute and, at from 2015 to 2019 she served as Vice-President of the Emilia Romagna Region, with portfolio of housing policies and welfare state.
