Meike Zehlike is a Senior Applied Scientist at Zalando Research in the Algorithmic Privacy and Fairness Team and a consultant for ethical AI. In 2022, she received her PhD in Computer Science from Humboldt University Berlin under Ulf Leser (HU), Carlos Castillo (UPF Barcelona), and Krishna Gummadi (MPI-SWS Saarbrücken). She has received grants and awards in her career, including the Data Transparency Lab Research Grant and the Google Women Techmaker Award. Her research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence and its social impact, automated discrimination detection and algorithmic fairness, and the use of AI in medical applications.
