Niels Annen is Parliamentary State Secretary to the Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development. He served as Minister of State at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2018 to 2021. Niels Annen is a vocal advocate of maintaining and cultivating the rules-based global order and strongly believes in seeking multilateral solutions to current conflicts and crises. Based on a firm commitment to universal human rights, fostering humanitarian aid, peace mediation and the preservation of the global arms control architecture, Niels Annen is promoting a stronger German role in international diplomacy.
