Philippa Whitford is the Scottish National Party (SNP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Ayrshire, and has been an MP continuously since 2015. She currently undertakes the role of Shadow SNP Spokesperson (Europe). She is the first in her family to have gained admission to college and earned a medical degree at the University of Glasgow. Prior to becoming involved in politics, she worked as a consultant breast surgeon at Crosshouse Hospital for more than 18 years.
