Tiago Antunes currently holds the office of Secretary of State for European Affairs. Until March 2022 he was Secretary of State Assistant to the Prime-Minister. Between 2017 and 2019 he was Secretary of State of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, where he coordinated and oversaw the governmental law-making process. Before becoming a member of the Portuguese Government, in 2017, he worked at the European Parliament, in Brussels, both on constitutional and economic affairs.
