Cracking the Ceiling: Driving Equal Participation in Tech and the Economy
About the Session
The tech and economic sectors have long been understood to be a primarily white and predominantly male world. Despite political commitment to change these grievances, women and other marginalized groups continue to be grossly underrepresented in tech and in leadership positions throughout our economies. The ensuing lack of diverse perspectives results in crucial parts of our society being built and structured for only part of the population. This session will explore which societal alliances are needed to create fundamental change that goes beyond mere representation and actually promote the professional advancement of women and marginalized groups in key sectors of technology and the economy from both a practical “on the ground” and a policy perspective.
